Drive and Performance 8.3/10

The 2025 Camry impresses with accurate, responsive steering and good feedback from the road. Some critics say the steering is too heavily weighted, but most agree that it takes corners with aplomb and feels secure and stable in nearly any driving situation. Body roll is minimal, and the suspension, while slightly firm, is pliant enough to keep the cabin comfortable over uneven pavement. The Camry’s brakes also garner praise for good pedal feel and quick, steady stops.

One of the major changes for the new Camry is its engine lineup: It now comes exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. The base setup consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors producing 225 horsepower. Front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) are also standard. If you opt for all-wheel drive, you’ll get the same powertrain but with an additional electric motor at the rear axle and a total output of 232 horses. Both variations provide prompt acceleration from a standstill and burly midrange power. The CVT is smooth and refined.

Fuel Economy 10.0/10

The 2025 Camry gets above-average fuel economy estimates for a hybrid car. The base LE with front-wheel drive achieves 51 mpg in combined city/highway driving, and all other front-wheel-drive models get 47 mpg combined. Adding all-wheel drive results in a slight dip in gas mileage: 50 mpg combined for the LE, 46 mpg for the SE and XLE and and 47 mpg combined for the XSE.

Interior 8.1/10

The new Camry’s interior is well-built, handsome and functional. There are few hard plastics visible, even in the base model, and the cabin design feels fresher than in past iterations. It isn’t as flashy as some rivals’ interiors, but there’s little to complain about. With seating for five, the Camry’s front row provides plenty of head- and legroom, along with plush, supportive seats. The second row is also spacious and adult-friendly, though taller folks might prefer more headroom.

Value 8.0/10

The 2025 Toyota Camry has a slightly below-average value rating for the hybrid car class. We determine value based on the vehicle’s estimated total cost of ownership, along with the vehicle’s MSRP for its base and top trims.

Safety 9.6/10

The 2025 Camry hasn’t been crash-tested at the time of writing, but the sedan comes with a good number of standard driver-assistance features. These include forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.

For installing child safety seats, there are two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear outboard seats and a tether anchor for the rear middle seat.

Quality and Reliability N/A

The 2025 Toyota Camry does not have a predicted reliability score at the time of writing.

Critics’ Rating 9.6/10

The 2025 Toyota Camry receives a critics’ rating that is excellent for the class. This rating, which is driven by our qualitative research, represents the overall tone and recommendation level that the automotive press places on a car.

Pricing

How Much Is a 2025 Toyota Camry?

The 2025 Camry starts at $28,400 for the base LE trim. It comes standard with cloth upholstery, an 8-inch touch screen, wireless device charging and more. The sporty SE is priced from $30,700 and comes with more aggressive exterior styling, upgraded upholstery and a sport-tuned suspension. Moving up to the XLE (base MSRP: $33,400) gets you partial leather upholstery, heated front seats, a larger touch screen and remote keyless entry. The range-topping XSE starts at $34,600 and includes full leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel.

All-wheel drive is available for around $1,500 across all trim levels.

Which Is the Best Toyota Camry Model to Buy?

Though the base model is a solid pick, we prefer the SE trim. It comes equipped with an impressive array of tech and driver-assistance features, and we think its extra amenities – including nicer upholstery and a sport-tuned suspension – justify the relatively modest price increase over the base model. The SE also has a longer list of optional features than the entry-level LE.

The 2025 Toyota Camry is more well-rounded and economical than ever thanks to a slew of thoughtful and well-executed updates. The automaker hasn’t reinvented the wheel with the redesigned Camry, but the stalwart sedan feels fresh, fully featured and (dare we say it) even a bit frisky.
