Nissan VR38DETT engine
The long-awaited Nissan GT-R was unveiled in October 2007. As expected, the object of interest was the engine under the bonnet to replace the powerful RB26DETT. The new engine was dubbed the VR38DETT and was designed exclusively for use in the Nissan GT-R. In designing the VR38DETT, Nissan engineers benefited from the expertise gained from Nissan’s successful V8 racing engines and VQ series engines. The result is a spectacular twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 engine capable of delivering 480bhp.
