The Hobart® Champion® Elite 225 is a 225 amp engine-driven welder and 10,000 watt AC generator that is small enough and light enough to fit in the back of most UTVs. Compared to previous models, the inverter technology in the Hobart 225 Welder sheds 122 pounds off the overall unit weight and 3 inches off the overall unit length; making this the lightest and most compact Hobart Champion Elite ever. It still packs plenty of power, though. The Hobart Champion Elite 225 produces 10,000 peak watts of AC generator power. Full 9,500 watts of continuous generator power for tools and lights are available at all times, even while welding at maximum output. DC welding output up to 225 amps provides smooth power for stick welding. The Hobart Champion Elite can weld up to 1/4″ steel in a single pass.
The Hobart 225 Welder features a rugged, fully enclosed case with convenient access panels on the top and both sides for easy maintenance. A simplified single knob control makes setting welding output extremely easy. Improved arc characteristics enhance arc starts, reduce weld spatter and produce better welds with all types of stick electrodes, including E6010. A Briggs & Stratton® Vanguard® 23 HP V-Twin gasoline engine provides long-lasting, reliable power to the Champion Elite 225.

Stick Welding Benefits
Stick welding (SMAW – Stick Metal Arc Welding) is a simple yet versatile, inexpensive and portable welding process. Flux coated welding rods are used, eliminating the need for bottled shielding gas like that used in MIG welding or TIG welding.
