The previous-generation Ram 1500 is offered as the entry-level 2022 Ram 1500 Classic. The model continues to serve as Ram Trucks’ low-cost introductory option, perfect for fleets and a sure alternative to midsize pickups from other automakers that simply don’t make the cut.
Engine Type
The 2022 Ram 1500 Classic is available in three different trims — Tradesman, Express, and Warlock — and numerous configurations such as Regular Cab, Crew Cab, and Quad Cab. In addition, Ram also offers two different truck bed sizes: 5’7” and 6’4”. A 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is the standard engine resting under the hood of the 2022 Ram 1500 Classic, generating 305 horsepower. Additional figures include a towing capacity up to 5,020 lbs and a payload capacity up to 1,500 lbs. The Pentastar V6 engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
2022 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock
Customers who splurge on the 2022 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock All-Terrain Pack can expect all-weather floor mats, Yokohama all-terrain tires, a full-size spare, and 17-inch matte black aluminum wheels. The Warlock trim of the Ram 1500 Classic itself already includes an aggressive appearance package inspired by the Ram 1500 Rebel trim. Its bold grille, aggressive R-A-M lettering, heavy-duty shocks, tow hooks, LED fog lights, hood decals, an optional sport hood, projector headlamps, powder-coated front, and rear tow hooks, and blacked badging are borrowed from trims with a much more dominant stance
Exterior Features
A few new features are available on the 2022 Ram 1500 Classic, including the addition of two new exterior paint colors — Olive Green and Hydro Blue. Available features that stand out include a spray-in bedliner, LED lighting, a tri-fold Tonneau cover, a power-release tailgate, and wheel-to-wheel side steps. Buyers interested in the Ram 1500 Classic for fleet purposes will be glad to learn that the automaker’s RamBox Cargo Management System is also available, making it possible to stay organized. Available extra-wide trailer-tow mirrors help drivers keep an eye out on peripheral traffic. Packages that can take the Ram 1500 Classic to the next level include the Express Values Package, Express Black Package, Tradesman SXT Package, Chrome Appearance Package, and Chrome Plus Package.

Crafted for optimal comfort, the cabin of the Ram 1500 Classic comes with a standard 7-inch performance display, a driver information digital cluster display, various USB ports, a 115-volt outlet, and a full-length floor console that keeps everything within reach. Upholstery varies from carbide cloth, to Bristol vinyl and more — but all are in a Diesel Gray color combination. The 2022 Ram 1500 Classic comes standard with the brand’s Uconnect infotainment system, along with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are integrated, as well as hands-free connectivity. 4C Navigation, along with the SiriusXM Guardian service that includes roadside assistance, are available as upgrades. A six-speaker audio system is standard, although Ram Trucks does have additional offerings from Harman/Kardon for the audiophiles out there.
