Broco BR-22 Underwater Cutting Torch
This is the original exothermic underwater cutting torch, developed by divers for divers. Ergonomically designed for diver comfort. High-impact and corrosion resistant materials. Easy to maintain. Interchangeable collets accommodate 3/8″ and 1/4″ diameter cutting rods. The BR-22 comes with standard size 3/4″ collet; additional size collets are also available.
Features:
- Redesigned collet provides tighter hold on the cutting rod. Redesigned collet washer removes rubber from the oxygen stream and extends washer life.
- Ceramic washer provides noncombustible electrical isolation.
- PTFE lined fiberglass reinforced hose withstands extremely high operating temperatures and is combustion resistant.
- The internal gasket reduces electrolysis, insulates the diver’s hand from electrical current, and reduces potential for gas pockets in the torch.
- Sintered element slag arrestor withstands more heat and sparks and increases oxygen flow rate.
- Non-return valve stops the flow of hot gases in the event of a flash back.
- Valve lever and valve stem have been redesigned to allow manual return should the valve stem get stuck.
- Redesigned valve to better meter flow.
Material: High-impact and corrosion-resistant construction, with most metal components made from brass for durability.
Collet Size: Comes standard with a 3/4″ collet; compatible with additional sizes (1/4″, 3/8″, and 5/16″) for a variety of cutting rods.
Oxygen Control: Non-conductive flexible coupler provides a unique safety connection between the torch head and oxygen control valve.
Flash Arrestor: Equipped with a brass flash arrestor featuring an internal filter screen to prevent burnback.
Rod Compatibility: Designed for use with standard Broco Underwater Exothermic Cutting Rods, including patented rods with alloy core wires that prevent burnback and can bend up to 90 degrees.
Rod Lengths Available: Compatible with standard 18” rods and 36” rods for heavier tasks.
Maintenance: Easy to maintain with Acme threads that prevent binding, ensuring quick and reliable rod insertion and retention.
Spare Parts: Spare parts kits available for extended service life.
